I'm Jenny Sutton and I am a painter and artist based in Sheffield, working from a studio in Portland Works.

I love paint-thin and thick, drips and daubs, carefully worked and freely applied. I love stories too, and intend to hint at narratives or parts of narratives in my work drawn broadly and lightly from my own experiences: walks, wanderings and encounters. I'm no realist but lurk in the liminal spaces between depiction, expression and abstraction. If you linger more than a moment, longer than a screen swipe when looking at my work then I feel I've done something. I often exhibit in Sheffield, and sometimes in other places too.
